Ma Po Tofu, one of Sichuan’s most famous dishes, can be easily prepared at home with this spicy bean sauce. Combining fermented soybean paste, salted chilli peppers, sesame oil and Sichuan pepper, the sauce features a savory flavour characteristic of Sichuan cuisine. Stir-frying some ground beef or pork is all it takes for a quick and easy meal. Then add some of the sauce as well as the diced tofu.
