    Colour & Taste: Urid dal are creamy white in colour and have a milder flavour than whole black grams. They taste delicious as they adapt the flavours of the spices they are cooked with – be it refreshingly gingery or mildly seasoned.

    Versatile Usage: Our urid dal are commonly used for making South Indian crispy and savoury dosa pancakes, papadams, soups, idlis and dahi vadas lentil fritters. Or, for tempering savoury rice and South Indian chutneys. And perfect for dishing out a warm bowl of dal, too!     Nutritious & Stimulating: Urad or urid dal are a God-send when it comes to healthy eating! They are full of soluble and insoluble fibre that benefit your gut.     Cooking Time: Cook your urid dal white lentils in an instant pot for 8-10 minutes, in a pressure cooker it will only take you four whistles, whilst slow cooking will require up to four hours. Wash and rinse your lentils thoroughly prior to cooking, and soak them for at least 30 minutes to four hours for optimal results.
